Neighbourhood forum facilitation

As part of our work supporting activities in the Big Local area, Wick Award has taken up a secondment opportunity with Hackney CVS to play a leading role in developing the next phase of the Neighbourhoods Community Forums.

Neighbourhood Forums bring together communities, capturing the voice of a neighbourhood and encouraging collaboration within the VCS to address health inequalities in the area.

Polly Mann and Janet Sebastian have taken up the shared role to coordinate Neighbourhood Forums in the Well Street Common and Hackney Marshes areas.

The first Well Street Common Neighbourhood Forum organised by Wick Award took place on August 9 at Gascoyne 1 Community Hall. There was a strong turn-out of residents and good representation from local health providers and community organisations. 35 people attended on a very hot day.

Sophie Green, Neighbourhoods Project Manager for City and Hackney, presented on the proposed approach to Anticipatory Care in our area.

The first Hackney Marshes Neighbourhood Forum will be delivered in Homerton Library on September 29. To book, click here.

Broxbourne and East Herts CVS is providing employment support to Wick Award to support this project.
